The goal of the Greening the Conference Sub-committee is to assist the "greening" consultant hired by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) with local contacts, resources and possible conference duties as well as encourage the hospitality community to move beyond the minimum green guidelines established by USGBC. This group is responsible for brainstorming and carrying out new "green" initiatives for Greenbuild and the city of Boston that work to lower the environmental impacts of local initiatives surrounding the conference. Members of this committee will work to create excitement during Greenbuild about the Greening of the Conference efforts. After the conference, the sub-committee will work with USGBC to gain data from the hospitality community about their greening efforts which will then be incorporated into the post conference greening reports.
